Description: State Game Warden Hurst was shot as he responded to back-up another Warden who was pursuing a suspect who had been hunting illegally. Texas Troopers and several law enforcement agencies pursued the suspect traveling at 100 mph through two counties before he was stopped by a roadblock. The suspect engaged in a gun battle with the officers, wounding Warden Hurst. Warden Hurst was transported to a local hospital where he died the next day.
