Description: Officer Helcher was killed in an automobile accident while on his way home from the Braselton Station. Officer Helcher was in uniform driving his department vehicle when a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck crossed Highway 365 and struck his patrol vehicle. Officer Helcher's police vehicle overturned several times. Officer Helcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
