Description: Town Marshal Hale died in an automobile crash when a semi-trailer truck collided with his department vehicle. Marshal Hale was transporting his wife home from the hospital when he received a dispatch concerning a robbery alarm at the bank. As Marshal Hale responded to the scene, with emergency lights and siren activated, his vehicle collided with the semi which was attempting to turn onto the interstate ramp. Marshal Hale died at the scene. His wife was seriously injured but survived. The bank alarm had been activated accidentally.
