Description: City Marshal Hoffman was shot as he sat in a barber's chair to get a shave. A man entered the shop, confirmed that the man sitting in the chair was indeed Marshal Hoffman, then shot him in the back of the head at point-blank range. The man fled on horseback, shooting at two other police officers as he made his escape.
