Description: Deputy Hazard, Deputy Rathjen and Agent Parrett responded to a residence to investigate a complaint of spousal abuse. The lawmen were confronted by the suspect who was armed with a shotgun and began firing. The suspect then approached Deputy Hazard, who was lying on the ground, and crushed Deputy Hazard's skull with the butt of his shotgun. The suspect received a 10 years to life sentence.
