Description: Chief of Police Hine was struck by a vehicle driven by a juvenile driver while directing traffic on Highway 908. Chief Hine was at the entrance of the quarter mile dirt racing track when the vehicle struck him, sheared off a utility pole and overturned three times before coming to rest. Chief Hine suffered multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he died the next day. Four other citizens were also critically injured.
