Description: Officer Hiatt was killed after his motorcycle was struck by a truck while en route to escort a funeral procession. Two blocks away from the Police Department, Officer Hiatt was struck by a pick-up truck that turned in front of him. Officer Hiatt was on his department vehicle and in complete uniform. Officer Hiatt was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to severe internal injuries.
