Description: Patrolman Hogan was shot in the head by a man suspected of shoplifting. Officer Hogan was interviewing the suspect along with the J.C. Penney store manager in a back office when the suspect pulled a gun and shot Officer Hogan in the head. Officer Hogan was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison plus thirty years. Three accomplices were convicted of second degree murder and also sentenced to prison.
