Description: On October 17, 1924, Patrolman Hahnel was shot in the stomach after he and his partner had arrested two suspects for speeding. Unbeknownst to the officers, the suspects had just committed armed robbery. Patrolman Hahnel was transported to the hospital where he died four days later. Both suspects were convicted of first degree murder. One suspect was executed and the second suspect was sentenced to life in prison.
