Description: Police Officer Hill died as a result of a gunshot wound sustained on April 2, 2013 while attempting to apprehend a suspect wanted for murder. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect when the suspect opened fire on the responding officers. The suspect was shot and killed in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers. Officer Hill was accidentally shot in the crossfire and a second officer was shot by the suspect. Both officers were transported to a hospital where Officer Hill remained until his death on October 19, 2013. The second officer survived. Inadvertent fire.
