Description: Chief of Police Harnois was fatally shot as he attempted to arrest a mentally deranged suspect who had shot and killed his wife. Chief Harnois was shot as he approached the residence armed with a tear gas grenade. Two state troopers were also shot but survived. The barricaded suspect committed suicide.
