Description: En route to a call, Patrolman Hollowell's motorcycle struck a dog. He was thrown from the motorcycle, struck his head and lapsed into a coma for 60 days. He became well enough to return to work but had not fully recovered. He suffered a relapse and contracted pneumonia. A previous stab wound he received while on duty further complicated his medical condition. He died of a lacerated brain 10 months after the motorcycle accident occurred .
