Description: Answering a disturbance call. Officers Hinds and Delbert E. Bates approached the house when the suspect stepped into the doorway. As the officers neared, the suspect brought an automatic pistol from behind his back and shot at the officers. Officer Hinds was hit once in each leg and again in the back. Officer Bates was shot in the leg.
