Description: Deputy Sheriff Horlocker was killed in a motorcycle crash when his patrol motorcycle was intentionally struck as he and fellow deputies attempted to apprehend a wanted rum runner. Deputy Horlocker and the suspect exchanged gunfire. As Deputy Horlocker approached the vehicle on his motorcycle, the suspect swerved and struck him. Deputy Horlocker was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained multiple injuries. Deputy Horlocker was transported to the hospital where he died. The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10-20 years in prison.
