Description: Deputy Hughett and three other deputies attempted to serve warrants for the illegal sale of liquor in Knox County, Tennessee. One of the suspects requested to go inside the residence to retrieve some personal items. Deputy Hughett consented but accompanied the suspect. The suspect drew a revolver and shot Deputy Hughett twice in the abdomen. Deputy Hughett was transported to the hospital where he died two days later. Five suspects were arrested.
