Description: Deputy Herzog was shot and killed after responding to a disturbance call involving a naked man on the Coal Creek Parkway, in Newcastle, Washington. Deputy Herzog attempted to subdue the suspect with pepper spray which had no effect. The suspect attacked Deputy Herzog and took possession of his service weapon. While Deputy Herzog attempted to find cover, the suspect shot him once knocking him to the ground. The suspect then stood over Deputy Herzog and shot him several times before fleeing the scene.
