Description: On January 2, 1995, Counselor Heavey was severely beaten when he attempted to stop an assault on a juvenile detainee. Counselor Heavey sustained a major head injury during the attack. Counselor Heavey was transported to the hospital where he remained until his death two weeks later on January 19, 1995.
