Description: In December 1969, Agent Haskell, one of the first narcotics agents hired by the State of Nevada, was severely beaten while working undercover for the Nevada Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Agent Haskell was questioning an informant when two drug suspects arrived at the residence and started a fight. Agent Haskell was repeatedly struck in the head with beer bottles and rendered unconscious. The suspects stole his identification and badge, and drove him home to the address on his driver's license. Agent Haskell underwent five brain surgeries and even briefly returned to work. Agent Haskell was subsequently involved in on-duty automobile accident where he was thrown through the front windshield of his Nevada State vehicle.
