Description: Agents Hargett and J.D. Bass had just arrested a suspect for possession of moonshine. After transporting the suspect to jail, the agents returned to the arrest scene to confiscate the suspects automobile which contained the moonshine. While supervising the towing of the suspect vehicle an unknown assailant fired several shots at the agents. After an exchange of gunfire Agent Hargett was killed and his partner wounded.
