Description: Patrolman Herrick was shot and killed as he and his partner responded to a burglar alarm at a store. As the officers approached the store, Patrolman Herrick was shot from a high-powered rifle and died at the scene. The second officer was also shot multiple times but survived. Two suspects were convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
