Description: Sergeant Hewitt and Officer James Quigley were both shot to death on the highway while attempting to apprehend the operator of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment He served 25 years in jail and was released. Two years later he was convicted of murdering his foster mother and sentenced to life imprisonment.
