Description: Master Sergeant Hood was killed in a single-vehicle automobile accident while pursuing a speeding motorist. Sergeant Hood spotted a vehicle traveling without a hood at a high rate of speed, and he initiated a pursuit. As Sergeant Hood negotiated a corner, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Sergeant Hood died of injuries sustained in the crash. The motorist was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and manslaughter.
