Description: Deputy Horton was killed in a helicopter crash as he and his partner conducted a narcotics search in Louisburg, North Carolina. The helicopter, TH-55, experienced mechanical problems and developed engine failure. Deputy Horton was killed instantly in the crash. His partner was seriously injured but survived.
