Description: Correctional Officer Hardin suffered a blood clot and died after an earlier altercation with an inmate at the High Desert State Prison. On December 29, 2011, Officer Hardin was attacked by an inmate and suffered a fractured fibula. On January 20, 2012, Officer Hardin collapsed and died after completing his shift due to injuries he sustained during the attack. Officer Hardin's death was ruled a homicide.
