Description: Special Deputy Haynes succumbed to a gunshot wound received 12 years earlier after responding to a call. After Deputy Haynes arrived at the scene and discussed the problem with the two men, they all left together in Deputy Haynes? car. When Deputy Haynes failed to return, a search was conducted. Deputy Haynes was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The two suspects, who were escaped convicts, were arrested and convicted of the assault. Deputy Haynes never recovered from his injuries and died on February 14, 1984.
