Description: Deputy Marshal Hendrix was shot and killed while he and several other deputies tried to arrest an escaped prisoner in Greenville County, SC. The officers were met with shotgun fire when they came upon the suspect's cabin. Deputy Marshal Hendrix was shot and killed immediately. The suspect fled the scene but later turned himself in at the sheriff's office. The man was tried and acquitted on grounds of self defense.
