Description: Deputy Constable Hicks was accidentally shot in the abdomen by a Federal Prohibition Agent in a case of mistaken identity. Deputy Hicks and his deputized partner, TL Veal, thought that the federal agents were bootleggers. The federal agents thought that the Deputy Hicks and his deputy were suspects. Gunfire was exchanged between them. Deputy Hicks died of his injuries the next day.
