Description: Chief Holcombe, along with several other law enforcement officers, went to investigate reports of hobos in the area. When they attempted to question the men, a gunfight erupted and Chief Holcombe was struck nine times. The suspect was tried in a court of law, pled self defense and received six years on a manslaughter charge.
