Description: Deputy Hudnall was killed in an automobile accident while transporting a prisoner to the Kernville County jail in Bakersfield. While en route, Deputy Hudnall's department SUV was struck head-on by a drunk driver on Highway 178. The collision caused the SUV to plummet 100 feet down into Kern River Canyon. Deputy Hudnall was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
