Description: Marshal Hart was fatally shot as he attempted to arrest a suspect on a charge of illegally selling whiskey. Deputy Sheriff Reuben Hart was also wounded but survived. The suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence and opened fire on the officers as they approached. The suspect pled guilty to the charge of murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
