Description: Deputy Marshall Hemby was attempting to arrest a drunk and disorderly man armed with a pistol. The suspect fled into an alley. As Marshall Hemby entered the alley in pursuit, he was shot. The suspect was captured, convicted, and hung. Deputy Sheriff Earl Nunnery was also shot and killed in this incident.
