Description: Deputy Hansen was struck and killed as he and his partner assisted a stranded motorist. A local citizen had problems with the brake line of his car and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Deputy Hansen and his partner observed the motorist and pulled over to render assistance. While standing near the rear of the vehicle another vehicle veered into the safety lane and struck Deputy Hansen. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
