Description: Marshal Ingermann was shot during an attempted burglary at a local pool hall. Marshal Ingermann responded to a tip that a burglary was planned at the pool hall and lay in wait until the suspects arrived. A gun battle ensued and Marshal Ingermann was shot in the chin. The bullet lodged in his neck making it impossible for him to walk or speak. Marshal Ingermann remained in critical condition for five days before succumbing to his injuries.
