Description: Deputy Sheriff Jones was shot and killed, and Deputy Marshal Allen Stanfield was wounded, in an exchange of gunfire with a 17-year-old robbery suspect when they attempted to question him. The suspect was wanted in connection with a drugstore holdup and wounding Police Officer Tom Holaman. The suspect was arrested and charged with murder and other charges. The suspect went on a hunger strike and died before the case could go to trial.
