Description: Trooper Jenks was shot and killed during a traffic stop. During the stop, Trooper Jenks smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle and was told by the driver that more drugs were inside the car. When Trooper Jenks asked the passenger to put his hands on the dash board, the suspect produced a weapon and shot Trooper Jenks in the head and chest. Trooper Jenks' body was found next to his patrol unit by two hunters. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His assailant was sentenced to life in prison.
