Description: Police Officer James was shot by a suspect whom he had arrested a few days prior. Upon release from the jail, the suspect swore he would shoot Officer James on sight. The suspect confronted Officer James in front of the county courthouse and fired the first shot. Although mortally wounded, Officer James returned fire and wounded the suspect. Officer James died at the scene.
