Description: Constable Johnson, along with Deputies Newton Floyd and John Stewart, went to a residence with a court ordered writ of attachment to seize a team of horses and a wagon. The lawmen stopped the suspect as he was attempting to leave the county. The suspect resisted arrest and shot the officers, killing Constable Johnson and wounding Deputy Floyd. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
