Description: Deputy Jackson and Sheriff Wesley McDonald went to a farm to pick up a man who was reported by his family as behaving erratically. The suspect opened fire and shot Sheriff McDonald as he approached the house, then shot Deputy Jackson who was still in the police car. Both lawmen died of their wounds. The suspect set the farm on fire and fled. After a twelve hour manhunt, the suspect committed suicide.
