Description: Officer Jones was walking his beat when he noticed that the shoe shop door was ajar. Officer Jones pushed the door open and was shot in the chest by a shotgun that was rigged with a string to fire when the door was fully opened. Officer Jones died at the scene. The owner of the store said the rigged shotgun was to capture burglars. The owner was not charged but was quickly escorted out of town by authorities.
