Description: Police Officer Jones was ambushed and shot while investigating a shots fired incident. The suspect was seen firing his rifle as he drove down Chesapeake Blvd. Officer Jones found the suspect vehicle parked outside a local residence and called for back-up. As Officer Jones and the back-up officer were preparing to enter the residence, the suspect opened fire and shot them both. Officer Jones was transported to the hospital where he died. The second officer survived his injuries.
