Description: Officer Jefferson died from injuries sustained in an attack in a residential building during an escape attempt. Officer Jefferson was stabbed 14 times to the chest and neck with a sharpened table knife and sharpened metal rod. Officer Jefferson was able to identify his assailants before he died. Both inmates were sentenced to 20-40 years and were paroled in 1992.
