Description: Deputy Sheriff Jones was shot and killed in the New Boston Courthouse while transporting a prisoner. Deputy Jones was transporting the prisoner from a mental hearing to the state institution when she was attacked by the prisoner. The prisoner took Deputy Jones??® service weapon and shot her in the head with her own gun. Deputy Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. The prisoner was later found driving the transport vehicle and apprehended.
