Description: Deputy Jones was shot and killed by a prisoner who attempted to escape. While feeding the prisoners, one of the prisoners slipped out of his unlocked cell. He obtained a pistol from the jail office and attempted to escape. Deputy Jones was shot three times as he attempted to stop the escape. The suspect was known as the "Santa Claus" bank robber.
