Description: Deputy James was killed in an automobile accident while responding to a domestic violence call. Because the suspects were armed, Deputy James was instructed by the dispatcher to use his emergency lights while responding. Deputy James lost control of his cruiser while attempting to negotiate a sharp curve and struck another car traveling in the opposite direction. Deputy James was transported to WakeMed Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
