Description: Deputy Kelly and Sheriff Samuel Graham were shot by an inmate who was attempting to escape from the county jail. After forcing Deputy Kelly to open the cell door, the inmate shot and killed him. Sheriff Graham, who lived in an apartment in the jail, was alerted to the escape and came to investigate. As he did he was also shot and killed by the inmate. The inmate was sentenced to two life terms in jail.
