Description: Agents Kirpnick and Heiden were investigating drug intrusion stemming from a sensor hit. Agents identified five suspects with contraband strapped on their backs and proceeded to question them. Agent Kirpnick told suspects to sit down. As they did so, third suspect pulled out weapon and shot Agent Kirpnick once in the head. Agent Heiden returned fire, but suspects fled. Agent Kirpnick died at local hospital hours later.
