Description: Patrolman Katnik was shot twice as he attempted to arrest an intoxicated suspect who was brandishing a gun. The suspect fired at the officers as they approached his saloon. The suspect then committed suicide. Patrolman Katnik was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and hip. Patrolman Katnik died seven years later on December 29, 1927 due to the bullet fragments lodged in his heart muscle.
