Description: Deputy Sheriff Kriss was shot while attempting to take possession of some horses. Deputy Kriss had served a writ of attachment regarding the horses and was under orders by the Sheriff to remain at the ranch until further notice. Two suspects stole the horses while Deputy Kriss was asleep at the ranch. Deputy Kriss located the suspects and was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire.
