Description: Lieutenant Arthur Kisro, Lieutenant Lewis Paul and Officer George Wilson were fatally stabbed during a riot at the Menard State Prison. Lieutenant Kisro died of wounds to his liver and abdomen. Five other guards were stabbed and one was burned but they survived their injuries. The four leaders of the riot were charged and convicted of murder. Three of the inmates received 100+ year sentences and the fourth received 50-75 years and was paroled on July 2, 1998.
