Description: Police Officer Kokko was shot when he responded to a disturbance call at a boarding house and stopped the fight. As Officer Kokko placed one of the suspects under arrest, a second man drew a gun and shot Officer Kokko four times. Officer Kokko returned fire, killing one man and wounding a second. Officer Kokko was transported to the hospital where he died the next day. Six suspects were arrested. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
